Submit Proposal

The 2019 PMRC is using EasyChair, an online conference management system, for all proposals this year. To submit any type of proposal, create an account in EasyChair at http://bit.ly/PMRC2019.

Once you have an active account and logon please select “submit as author” for all types of proposal submissions, you will then be able to select the type of submission you would like to make.

For detailed instructions on using EasyChair please visit the http://pmrc.unc.edu/submissionhelp. Below are specific instructions for the different types of submissions - these are also available at all times from the EasyChair submission form (read button).

Instructions for Papers 

The program committee welcomes proposals featuring high-quality theoretical, qualitative, or quantitative research. Paper proposals should be no more than 400 words. 

  • For papers with multiple authors please list all contact information for each author.  
  • Please be sure to select (check the checkbox) 'corresponding author' under each additional author information so that all authors receive updates on the status of your proposal. 
  • You can select “click here to add yourself” and the system will automatically populate the fields for your information.  

Instructions for Panels 

Full Panel Proposals consist of four individual papers and a chair. Panel submissions should bring together complementary papers that tackle compelling research questions or subjects of study in public management, or that seek to provoke roundtable discussion around important issues facing academic public management. Panel proposals should include a panel title and description (abstract of 400 words or less), as well as four individual paper proposals (400 words or less each).

  • Please enter the Panel Chair as 'Author 1'.
  • You can select “click here to add yourself” and the system will automatically populate the fields for your information.  
  • Title and Abstract should be for the full panel.
  • In the abstract box please provide your panel description.
  • Under the heading ‘Other Information and Uploads’ author names, affiliation, email addresses should be entered along paper title and individual paper proposal for the four panelists. 

Instructions for Workshops 

Proposals for pre-conference sessions and workshops must be submitted through the online system and include the following information: 1) Title, 2) Statement of objectives and scholarly importance, 3) Detail on the length and format of the session, 4) Names and affiliations of session organizers and leaders, 5) Ideal number of participants. 

  • The proposals should not exceed 1000 words in length. 
  • Please enter the workshop organizer as 'Author 1'. 
  • You can select “click here to add yourself” and the system will automatically populate the fields for your information.  
  • Please enter all contributors (if any) as 'Author 2' - 'Author ...'. 
  • Please add everyone who should receive updates on the status of your proposal as a corresponding author (checkbox).  

Instructions for Doctoral Student Posters 

Poster proposals should be no more than 400 words and articulate the research question being asked, the theoretical significance of the research question, the research method used to address the questions, and any preliminary findings and implications.  

  • For posters with multiple authors please list all contact information for each author.  
  • You can select “click here to add yourself” and the system will automatically populate the fields for your information.  
  • Please be sure to select (check the checkbox) corresponding author under each additional author information so that all authors receive updates on the status of your proposal. 

Process and Guidelines  

  • Individuals will be limited to two acceptances.  
  • All proposals must be submitted no later than November 2, 2018.  
  • All submissions may be edited until November 2, after this date changes to submissions will not be considered during the review process. 
  • All proposals will be evaluated using a double-blind peer review process with a review team of up to fifty faculty providing recommendations to the program committee. 
  • Notifications of proposal acceptance or rejection will be sent by January 31, 2019.  
  • If a proposal is accepted, the presenter must register for the conference in order to participate. 
  • Once you have an accepted paper you can upload the paper for panel and website distribution by logging back onto EasyChair and going to your submission page. 
  • Individual Paper Proposals will be grouped into panels by the program committee.

You can make changes to your submission up until November 2nd.
